    Howdy all:
Ill start with some history on this old jeep.
My Grandpa bought it new He passed in 76.
My uncle had it next he used it on his farm for a while.
He also laid it on its side twice when he was young.
He sold it to a family Friend in 84 who patched the front floors together and painted it.
Then my uncle got it back from him in 84.
He decided to let me have the jeep so hear we go 23k miles.

    Leaving Rice VA.

Anyone know what this is for?

    Rear floors held up well.

The toolbox still looks pretty good.

But the front pans and removable hump look bad.

Hardtop wont be back on it i just don't like it.

It also has two heaters i think the driver is the only original.

Looks real nice. That flat bump on the cowl is to mount the mirror. Was used on the M38A1, not sure if any of the Cj's ever used it though.

mine uses it, it's a 62. the mirror is mounted there but the windshield is drilled and tapped so it could be mounted there as well.

I have a '59 that my grandfather bought new. Learned to drive in it, then it was my first car. Nice family airloom you have there. Enjoy working on it.

Thanks my mom drove it to work for a while when it was new.
It belonged to my grandfather on my dad's side of the family.
He lived the old way only went to town for things he had to have raised and maid near everything he needed.
I was to young to drive when my uncle got it but I have wanted to own this jeep from the moment i saw them
pull it out of papaws apple house around 1980 when Thea sold the home place.

Started on the power train today was hoping to get it up and running then tear the jeep down for paint and body.
As always there wear grimlands in the mix two stuck valves in the block so ill be taking the head off tomorrow after work.

I should have called this one the lunch box build.
I'm taking in a part or two every day and working on it at lunch brake.
