After spending much of the day researching my vin and data plate, it looks like I’ve got a factory 304 3 speed with trim level 500(blue Levi seats) in trans am red.

Not that it matters to me, but would this be a renegade package?

After getting this jeep and learning this info, I’ve kinda developed a strange need to put it back to its roots with the Levi seats, badging, and possibly renegade decals(if it is).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Maybe, but not definitely. By 1975, the Renegade was just a package, and you could get everything in the package but the stripes ala carte. You'd have to look at the sales literature from 1975 to see if the Levis package came with the Renegade package or not.

That I'm sure of - you would get a body-color roll bar, solid back panel, stripes and alloy wheels with the Renegade package. '74 on, any color was available with the package. You would get the 304 and some of the heavy-duty options... again, check the sales literature.

Wow, red with blue seats. Quite a combo. What's your paint code?

    Thanks for the info

I have the solid back panel and a body color roll bar that someone painted over with black spray paint. Wheels are long gone.

Paint code is 515(trans am red) for ‘75

I kinda like the idea of the red with blue seats

I think I have seen Jeep brochures from that era with your color combination featured.

Your post suggests that the Levis seats or their Levis covers are gone. I recall these seats had buttons like the iconic brass buttons that are present in the actual bluejeans. You may have trouble finding the fabric and the buttons, if you want to put the seats back to their original appearance. 1975 was the first year this trim style was available. For 1979, Jeep dropped the "Levis" affiliation, but continued to offer "blue denim" as a trim option.

You own a 1975, and very nearly everything on these Jeeps changes for 1976, including the seats. Fabric and buttons are probably the same 1976 on, but the seat design will be a little different. The seats are listed in the parts book by trim code, with unique PNs for code 500. It seems unlikely to me that you will find replacements for the 1975 blue Levis seats to match what was there. If your seats have been recovered, I recall some owners on the Wagoneer sites that sought out fabric to have their original Levis seats recovered. Suggest you look there for advice about the fabric and buttons, if that appeals to you. www.fsjnetwork.com www.ifsja.org

There was a Levis sticker that went on the vehicle, PN 366 7134. It is shown in the parts book - cheap on CD-ROM at RockAuto. I don't know of any source for that, but it's a vinyl sticker and you could have it made.

You should also have a dash pad in matching blue textured appearance, PN 545 6412. The 1975 dash pad was a one-year offering that was molded in one piece, and different from the earlier stitched-vinyl pad (I have one in black on my '75, if you need a picture). For 1976, Jeep offered the blue Levis trim but the shape of the dash pad changed to match the new windshield design. If you don't have the original pad, it will be extraordinarily difficult to find a replacement, I predict.

Parts book - https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2018300&cc=1309474&pt=10335&jsn=387 Also there on paper for ca $60, under another tab.

A Renegade would have 15x7 alloy wheels, and anything else would come with steel wheels. Where I worked, all CJs that did not come with a special package were ordered with 15x6 steel wheels and Suburbanite tires. Wheel selection was worked out at time of sale. If not a Renegade or other package, just about any wheel and tire package you could imagine could be selected. Available factory wheels are shown in the parts book.

Putting it back to factory original would be really neat, and I'd like to see it when you get there.

    Thanks for the info!

I did some digging and calling around. Below is what I have gathered…

‘75 was the first year of the Levi package. The most common color was red with tan seats

there is no way to tell if any pre 76 jeep was a true renegade package but most of the jeeps ordered with Levi seats were renegades. Adding to the fact is the body color roll bar, lack of tailgate, 304, 3 speed, ect

From my digging, my red(515 paint code) with blue(500 interior Levi) was a rare color combo. And with it being the first year for the Levi option I’m leaning toward it being a renegade. All of this is forcing me to put the jeep back to stock..

I’ve found a supplier for the seats with true buttons, and disassembly and restoration of the jeep will commence this fall.

Are you going to be looking for the blue top to complete the package as it was new?

No, but I remember a Jeep I used to work on that was red with blue denim top and Levis seats. It was a pretty distinctive color combination. It even had the matching denim blue spare tire cover.

    Hi Keys5a;
I have a '75 cj5 levi with the 562 exterior Med Blue paint code and the 500 interior code. I am trying to locate someone who can redo the seats in the blue denim and also someone who can supply the top and doors in the blue denim, (spare tire cover would be bonus). Did you manage to locate someone? Would you be willing to share contact info? Thanks for any help.

Check post #5 regarding the full-size Jeep link for possible Levi vinyl fabric.
