'69 Cj5 Hood Question

I have a '69 CJ5 with the side marker lights on the hood. I don't really want them there and I am thinking of putting it up for trade for a plain hood. The guy who sold me the Jeep said intact, oem hood marker lamps are hard to find, is that true?

There was a discussion on them somewhere lately, try doing a search. might be some info on. availability.

 

Now that you mention it, guess they are reflectors. I can take them off and fill the holes, because they just look like something to get broken on a trail ride. It's just that maybe somebody is looking for a hood with reflectors.

 

Yes they are highly desired and very hard to find originals! There’s a member on here who was 3D printing them. Look up termin8ed posts under “hood reflectors”

Well, there goes my plan to retire early by selling them for $1 million. I'll just remove them and fill the holes.

I'm sure you could get a few bucks for them, but I wouldn't put a down payment on a Ferrari just yet.

 

I highly doubt they will get damaged on a trail ride, and if they do, you will have much more to worry about than the reflectors.
