Did you get the High Volume kit? With the spacer plate and longer gears.

I didn't - seemed like they didn't suggest that for a stock engine.

They are the Novak ones for Buick V6. Very good quality. These are the coated ones. I have some other parts that seem to be on terminal back order, can't wait to see how they fit!

It was yesterday but... I installed a new TA Performance oil pump cover. A bit of measuring with the feeler gauge, pick the correct thickness gasket, packed it with petroleum jelly, had to cut down one of my bolts and the bolts had screwdriver head so I just torqued it as much as I could by hand.

Not on my Jeeps but got the Red CJ drivable and got my brother's CJ7 running but it's leaking from the accelerator pump, I also pulled the interior out of the CJ7, my brother wants to run with no carpet to help keep future rust issues from popping up in the floors. The fuel filter was so clogged up with varnished corn gas that it wouldn't flow. Changed out all the rubber lines the fuel filter and tossed 5 gallons of ethanol free in and after about 20 seconds of cranking it fired up, though is running a bit rough and missing a bit. Placed a large order on Rock Auto to include a carb refresh kit and will be pulling the carb off for a disassemble, deep clean and rebuild along with a ton of other smaller things.

I ordered a carb rebuild kit for my project today from mike's carb parts. This "should" be the last thing I need to do before I van set up a test stand and do a first engine start!

  10. i got started on sandblasting today! the school shop has a nice setup there, and a compressor to back it up. i don't have pictures, but the Tcase is mostly done, the tranny case still untouched.

Make sure your not covering up an issue or the stabilizer will have a short life. I'm still running a used stabilizer I got 10 years ago it's just there to limit the pothole reactions.

Tore the Motorcraft carb down on my brother's CJ and dunked all the parts except for the body of the carb because it won't fit in the paint can of carb cleaner.

What I did was found a metal cooking tray just bearly big enough and deep enough for the carb body to fit. Dumped the carb cleaner in it. Just make sure your soaking pan is clean metal and doesn't have any coating of some kind.
Also if your horn (top cover) has a choke pull down be sure to remove it first. It has a fabric in it, cant tell for sure if yours has it some 2100 carbs don't. Also if you dissemble your auto choke and remove the metal spring from it for cleaning dont put the spring in the carb soak, clean gently some other way.
A worth while up grade is a brass float, the factory plastic one will absorb gas, causing all kinds of trouble. Mikes carb has them. A new set of air jet screws is a must if yours are damaged at all. Look at Mikes carb on you tube, has really good videos on each circuit repair.

Might’ve found a new heart for it too. Needs some work though... need to do some contemplation.

I made it very mad, that's what I did. It hasn't been started in probably 8 months, and it's not having any of it at the moment. Currently got the battery charger sitting on it.
