Do you have the 25 AMP fuel pump fuse?...

This is what mine looks like:

I'm surprised the fuse didn't blow. It did melt the plastic. I ordered a new fuse holder and I will look at the corroded one, but the cars running... :D

Question is, why did it melt down?

I believe corrosion, the holder is exposed under the hood...

I found a few uglies in mine too. This is the 30A fuse holder for the AC/heater blower.
One of the relays had a spot like this too. The relay was fused to the plug.

A 30 AMP fuse in a 20 AMP holder...

This one calls for a 30 amp.
    From a forum:
“7's are notorious for the blower melting the fuse panel when [the motor is] dying and pulling way too many amps.”

I had the tub on and off several times over the weekend. That gets old.

I had to cut a big hole in the firewall for this wiring harness grommet...

...but the pilot bit fell within an existing hole. I had to improvise by tacking a nut as a centering guide.

The passenger’s side was a little more involved. The hole is giant and oval to accept the majority of the ECU and harness connectors, and where I wanted to put it required some trimming of the boot around the cage mount. I also mounted the coil underneath it using an existing threaded insert in the firewall.

One last update. Since the handbrake hole in the dash will otherwise go unused, I decided to open it up and make that the location for the ignition switch. Figuring out how to support it from behind is going to be a bear.

I’ve been working on figuring out where to route the air intake. The engine bay is getting so crowded, I have no choice but to go inside the cab with it. I was able to turn the stock air horn 180° and run the bellows through the firewall between the cage and the brake booster.

This moves the air mass sensor inside the cab. I’ll need to cut the wires, add a connector and about 2’ of length to get it to reach.

I dug through my supply of junkyard parts and was able to piece together the elbows and tubes I need from stock replacement parts for a turbo 940. These get me up and over the steering column and behind the gauges. I’ll build an air box behind the dash on the passenger’s side with the air intake possibly dumping into the wheel well, à la Project Binky.

Not so much like a carbureted vehicle would likely cause right? The 3b is similar no?

    Well, it’s a Jeep, isn’t it? :D

It’ll be a sealed system that shouldn’t allow any fumes to exit into the cab.

My 3b just has the open air filter up under the dash. This will be an air box, more like the hippo, with the intake opening drawing air from either the engine compartment or the wheel well.

Isn't this going to complicate the installation of the snorkel...

I was hoping for a hood scoop. Just offset to one side. Who's decision is this anyway? :)

Biggest downside to a hood scoop is you can't fold the windshield down :n:
