hi, you guys must realize I'm getting quite bored when I'm putting up my 5 x 8 utility trailer on here as a restoration!
I've had this trailer FOREVER! It's taken many of my past race bikes to tracks, hauled crap, etc.

I think this was around 2006 or so. Hauled my TL1000r Suzuki for a track day.

During Harvey, it sat quietly being snubbed out by flood waters.

IT's become really rusty, so I started taking it apart, have it sandblasted soon and paint it something awesome. I had treated decking for flooring and will go back with that, only new. I'll cut that mesh out tomorrow.

So, that's my newest project for now;)

Is it made from angle iron or rectangular tubing? If tubing, I guarantee that flood has it rusting more on the inside.

I am glad to read something you're working on.:D(y):watch:

Thank you Chris~ probably my favorite track bike;) I did have my race license and went through all the "schooling", but never really raced, just track days. Even though it was very exciting and I went to many track days, I have little desire to get back to that, I survived it;)

IT took some time, but finally got all that mesh off. One of the support angle iron has a pretty good bow so I'll go ahead and replace it. I was thinking to put in on my rotisserie, but I think the blasters can handle it ok, but does make it easier for them, well, and me~ meh, I may put it on the rotisserie!~

I'm glad I put it on the rotisserie, it'll be much easier for the blasters and for me when I go to paint it. However, it's supposed to rain for the next couple days and the blasters don't blast on rainy days. Probably be next week.

A little update;) Got the parts back from Cy-fair coating/sandblasters. All looks well, they did a great job as usual. Just have some welding things to do. I went to buy some Expoxy primer from my paint store, and they haven't been able to get epoxy since a few months ago!:mad:, so I ordered some U-pol primer from Amazon~ I had used it before and have no complaints, but I hope they get restocked on the shopline epoxy that I like.

I asked the magic question of color to Gary~ I said red, but looks like we're going with boring black, but will be a two stage so will be nice n glossy. anyway, looks like lots of rain in the forecast:(

Red with black racing stripes it is!

In all seriousness you want it to be identifiable if it goes somewhere without you.

    RED
Black is boring, super hot to the touch in summer and shows every little flaw.

Major downsides to red are it fades the fastest and red paint is OMFG expensive!!

Give me Gary's phone number. Bout time I talked some sense into that boy.

How about British Racing Green? I have about 3/4 gallon sitting on the shelf, it still requires a clear coat which I was going to anyway. I have some leftover red paint from the Gas caddy which I can use as pinstripes. I'd just like to use of the BRG as it's been sitting around for quite some time. It's hard to get rid of automotive paint.

I'm whooped! a good whooped though~ love working!;)

a little more fabrication, tack welded the new tabs in place; welded all that needed to be welded up.

I'm so happy that I put this thing on my rotisserie~ it was a pain to prime, but flipping it like a hot cake worked well;)
