More of a note to those who search later on...

Jeremy at PartsMike and I talked. He has no idea why the mounting holes in my tranny are too big for the bolts. He did confirm the 7/16 should fit. He also confirmed the stud I got from them might need to be drilled out. So I measured the stud just below the splines and it was just a little less than 5/8. So I drilled the hole in the bell housing out to 5/8". Put a stack of washers and a socket and started to pull the stud in. It slowly worked. It seated and I did a little happy dance and took the nut and the washers off and...saw the new cracks in the bell housing.

So I took out the stud and grabbed my dremel and a cutting but and cut out the cracks so I can have it tig welded tomorrow.

I guess while I'm having it welded I can have the spacers milled.

I am starting to think the Ford is a better option as well. I went this a Jeep because I did not want to change input shafts, etc. I thought that even though a jeep case was harder to find, it would not have these issues. It baffles my mind that a part out of a Jeep, that goes with a bellhousing from Jeep, gives me this much trouble to bolt it up.

But is is strange that only one other person has a case that has these larger holes. The rest of the folks who posted up and had Jeep cases it just bolted up fine. I'm starting to wonder if at sometime the case came out of something like bigger truck because the holes were cast like this, not drilled and it has been incorrectly identified as a jeep case. I really don't know. I just want it together.

    nickmil & aallison,
This is a very interesting subject to me, one that I'm wanting to do in the future; swap a T150 for a T18. When you say a "Ford case", what are you exactly referring to? Is it a Ford T18, or someting else? I apologize for the "stupid" question, I just what to better understand.
