Why would a person buy a nice painless fuse block & wire it with 4-5 pieces of wire spliced together to reach the switch? I'm also wondering why (probably the same person) would buy four 2" wheel spacers & not replace the lug studs at a length that would at least swallow the full length of the lug nut... :toetap: My new (old) CJ seems to have a surprise hidden beneath every surface... :) Who would have thought??? I didn't know this until I replaced a leaky rear wheel cylinder today...

Since I'm on the subject, I'm kinda wondering why they'd need wheel spacers anyway...this jeep has a high gear ratio...it also has an overdrive unit... so I'm kinda puzzled as to why the PO might have figured big tires were needed/wanted???

I'm still glad I got rid of my 94 Ford F350 diesel though...this little CJ5 is SOOO much easier to work on...no replys really needed...I felt the need to vent... There's also an issue with either the transfer case or the overdrive (I'll figure it out) (maybe) ...but he handed all of his receipts over with the title & he paid over 2K to have the tranny gone through.... (it growls pretty bad if I'm in overdrive) UNLESS it's in 4wd...I haven't had time to give it a good look though...it seems crazy to me...throwing good money away at modifications that only create more problems...Why people do some of the things they do is a mystery to me...

sometimes the PO didn't have a clue . as to spacers , tires most likely rubbed springs when turning

Didn't get wheels with the proper back spacing for the tire/wheel width.

More money than they know what to do with, so they put on every do-hickey that someone else is pushing that week.

Nope....tires clear fine without the spacers...at least with the street tires it's wearing now. They are 31x10.5x15...I can't imagine trying to drive it with anything bigger because it doesn't have power steering but does have a little 12" steering wheel...

Probably put on spacers because he wanted a wider footprint.

spacers do slightly reduce the risk of flipping a cj, which is not hard to do
