    Hey guys,

I am dropping my block off to the machine shop in a week or so and have a question regarding my head. I am doing a 4.0 head conversion but for $100 more, I can get an upgraded 4.0 head that uses an upgraded camshaft. I assume this is a "stroker" set up? Is this ideal for a rock crawler? If this is a good choice, who makes a nice upgraded cam shaft?

No, a stroker uses the 258 crank and rods in a 4.0 block. The 258 has a longer stroke and the 4.0 has a bigger piston bore.

It sounds like they're just offering a cam that might work better with the 4.0 head, not a bad idea.

So, the main question would be the difference between the regular 4.0/4.2 conversion head and the upgraded one then where I could obtain the upgraded Camshaft for the upgraded head if I did go that route.

Thanks for clarifying the striker question. :)

Kevo's signature was deleted by admins because it advertised his company I presume.

Thanks, it shows up differently on my phone and I thought it was my sig since it doesn't show up while using the iPhone either. ;)

I'm no expert, but they all appear to be the same thing to me. The last two are actually made by the same company CCH or Clearwater Cylinder Head.

The HO head flows better=more power. If you decide to go fuel injection, the HO injection system is better.

The non-HO will work, but if you can get an HO head.

How will that power effect my torque curve though.... I don't just want more power. I will get some specs and see how each will effect my torque curve, thanks guys. :D
