so i went to the jeep invasion on friday night...and there was 1 other tux there. it was blue with a blue top. like most tux's it has been converted to floor shift. but it still had the progressive rate springs...and it made me sad that mine has 9 leaf. i wish someone made the progressive rate springs...i would rather have the correct springs. did anyone ever make replacements?

Beats me but, I doubt it. I'm not even sure how to tell them from the standard springs. Wonder if they were used on later models, perhaps. I'll sell you a set but, you have to buy the whole JEEP to get them. :D

I'm pretty sure the "dual rate" springs are the ones with the groove down the center. They have been discussed here before.

Lots of early CJ's and military jeeps had grooved springs - in many configurations.

Are you talking about front or rear springs?

All these springs were listed in my parts book for the CJ5A and CJ6A. Most where also listed for the DJ5 and DJ6. You might be able to find the ones you want on a DJ.

For rear springs my parts book shows three numbers.

    #925940 - 13 leaves

#937506 - 5 leaves (also used by the DJ)

    #916-92 - 12 leaves (Heavy duty)

For the front springs my parts book shows five numbers

    #921083 - 7 leaves (Mather)(Serial number specific)

#942165 - 12 leaves (Eaton) (Heavy duty)(also used by the DJ)

#937505 - 6 leaves (Two stage)(also used by the DJ)

#942002 - 10 leaves (also used by the DJ)

#942014 - 5 leaves (also used by the DJ)

    Hope this helps. :)
