Question in the area of turn signals.

Instead of me spending all that time wiring into the harness turn signal wiring etc.

Can't I just put some LED's in the back separate, or maybe a rear lense w/them in it. Peach really wants her to have turn signals to help prevent a rear end collision.

Is there a setup like this/aftermarket.

    Thanks,
    Jim

Question, is 85w140 gear oil to thick/thin for the steering knuckles, or do I have to get straight 140 weight which will be hard to find.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Thanks,

Find your nearest John Deere dealer & get ome "corn head" grease- that's the proper consistance. if you can't find it near you CV joint grease would be good as well.

Grease in the steering box is a bad thing- it won't get into the sector shaft bushings to lubricate them- that's where you do want to use 140 wt.
    oil.

    Wow, thank you very much.

There isn't a John Deere dealer around this small town. I'll have to call them to order.

How many tubes should I get?

    Thanks,
    Jim

I opened up the plug to the steering box and I put some 80W in. Filled it up to the point it was gushing out the fill hole.

Now the excess it barely coming out of the shaft at the top where the steering shaft connects. It is almost stopped so I doesn't appear to leak.

I did look at the T-case-filled it yesterday. It appears to have a small leak coming out of the parking brake drum-just a few drops.

Maybe running this Jeep after sitting 7yrs will help.

Thanks again for all the help guys-it really make my daughter happy that we are getting this Jeep functioning.

Found this in my parts laying around. Might work, need to test it or just buy a new one for her to have turn signals.

Don't see any connections under the dash.

Nice Sparton turn signal. When wired with the wheel contacting the steering wheel and turning, they auto cancel like a modern vehicle.

Oh, so that's what that wheel is.

Now to see if it works and how I can just hook turn signal light to it.

If not then I will sell it, if it is worth anything.

I just want to run two small LED turn signals.

    Thanks,
    Jim

Spartons are worth selling, working or parts IMO.

Some really like having cancelling signals.

    I don't know why....

So what's it worth to put on eBay?

Ya it's just as easy to turn off / move the lever to the center.

    Thanks,

Found a gas gauge that really works. No more electrical problems or sending units that need to be replaced. Always works.
This is only for those gas tanks w/the wide neck.

Question, how much per side if empty?

I want to make sure I get enough.

    Thanks,

    Look what I just found.

A Hazard switch. And it has a green wire coming from the switch.

There is a Orange wire in the harness not hooked to anything but if you look you can see they were plugged into ?

I turned the key on and pulled the switch and didn't see anything.

Also notice the Blue wire hanging w/an end on it hooked to nothing.
