I want some rear body armor much like jzeber just finished up and I had this idea. I found these rear replacement panels for a great price

The only problem is, I have no clue how thick they are. If they are thin you could buy 2 per side and double up your protection for that price lol.

So my question is, does anyone have an idea on how thick these panels might be? All you would need to do is cut off the tabs and drill mounting holes and you'd possibly have decent body armor for a great price. Just a thought, I might have to be the guinea pig for those prices.

I would think they are 18 or even 20 ga. Not real good body armor. Those are just replacement panels.

I agree, too thin, just spent the money for my rocker and quarter panel guards from Genright.
