When i put in my waggie axles i will have to redo my saginaw mount on the frame since the box is too far back. Can you show me the monut you guys used to mount the saginaw box to the front frame. I know you need to box the frame, which i have done, than get a mount made and weld in holes in the fraem and sleeve them wuth tube to prevent the bolts from crushing the frame. I am confused on the fact that i saw a few mount photos and the bottom of the mount hangs below the frame and it looks like th ebox is only really on the frame in 2 places. So please let me see some pics :)

I'll look for pics of mine. I have the cast mount. It's like a factory style setup. Might be tomorrow.

    Edit:I found some.

That's the route I'm going Dan, look for one from a Commando. I'm planning to use the Commando mount, late CJ manual box/pitman arm and the modified tie rods from Herm with stock ends. Sorry no pics, it is just too durned cold to venture down to the garage. Mebbe once we break 10*!

Steve - Is Herm selling the tie rod tubes, cut down and re-threaded to work with the Dana 25/27?

    Any idea on price.

Sorry for the hijack Dan! Just to make up for it, I'll post some pictures fo the Sagi mount on the flattie when I get home tonight. :D

John, very nice setup. What size tubing did you use for the crossmember? Is it notched on the bottom. Once again nicely done.

Zed: I'm not sure. This swap was done by a po. I think it's a postal jeep column. Hope these pics help a little.

jd: IIRC it was either 1 1/2 or 1 1/4 DOM tubing. I made plates to box in the frame where the tubing goes through. It's not notched at all. Heres a pic of the old crossmember cut out and the new tubing and end plates.

Si Senor. $70 bux gets ya brand new tubes cut to the correct length and threaded to accept the stock TREs, thus eliminating the need for the two-holed passenger side knuckle.

I know, it's not as strong as the two-holed knuckle and oversized TREs, but for as much trail use as my Jeep is going to see, I'm playing the odds. Time will tell if I chose wisely! :D
