Bent push rods!

Sounds to me like in your over revving you floated the valves. Push rods dropped out and you bent one. Totally different scenario. I agree with brother straighten or replace the bent one and give it a go.
As for Budda44 you say your going to take your kids with you. Make sure it's 2 rigs or more. I take grand kids with me. Wouldn't go far from home with what you described.

 

I recall sitting at a light in Norman OK once while I was consulting at the university. Kids in a honda or toyota 4-door at the light winding the rubber bands a bit too tight and as my light turned, kabang...

I sort of chuckled as I turned into the hotel as to the stories likely being fabricated as to how they were gonna 'splain that to pop...
