1971 Body tub on 1975 chassis

    Quick question, have a 75 CJ5 that the tub is pretty much junk. Have a chance to pick up a 71 tub nearby. Will it work with my 304 and 3spd?

    Firewall penetrations are different. It has the wrong JEEP script on the cowl. The front body supports may be different ... maybe some other things. Basically the same.

    Im not going to do a full resto, just need a solid body to start with. Price and location is playing a big part. Will firewall back be close? I have an appt to see the tub tomorrow. Thanks for any help

    It'll have a big hole on the left side for the heater, IIRC. This will be where the hanging pedals mount on your Jeep. You''ll have to weld in some metal.

    It will be close, but you will need to alter it some. Difficult to make it work unless you are able to weld, but all you need is a 110V MIG or similar.

    Owners of the earlier Jeeps would be better able to comment on this.
