I finally found one. It doesn't have doors but the top is in good shape with good glass. Needs sanding and painting. If I were to purchase this top, how hard will it be to find doors. I currently have Soft doors for my soft top. Will they work. Are all hard doors the same for a pre 76 CJ5?

I think the doors will be hard to find by themselves.
It's unlikely the soft doors will fit properly...you might be able to half-*** something but it will look bad and not seal up well.
The hard doors will need to be for whatever brand top you purchase.

The metal doors are very heavy, they have the window rolling down. It will be easier to make doors with synthetic materials and a half-window to push.
I can add that metal doors are rusting inside and it is difficult to control. Mine were Ok but I used lot of anti-rust chemical to protect them.

You need to find out what brand of top it is. I know of a source for a pair of Meyer cab doors, but they would only work for you if it is a Meyer steel cab.

On mine, I drilled out all of the pop-rivets and then had it sandblasted and powder coated white. I hammered and dollied the big dents out, welded up the stress cracks and fixed the bent rain gutter. Still has a few dings under the powder coat, but it just shows a little character, as I think I'd have to have 'leaded' the dents pretty well before I'd have fixed it. may be for a future fixit better project, but I also want to be able to rub brush and not worry about it too much...

Thanks for the responses guys. I found another with the top and doors. It is a Jiffy 525 top. I think its for an older jeep or pre 71 CJ5. Would this top/doors work on a 73 cj5? If not why not and what would it take for it to work?

This has been covered over and over and over again in old posts.

CJ-5 tops from 1975 back are all the same. CJ-5 tops from 1976 forward are different. The difference is entirely in the shape of the windshield.

Thanks Timgr. So if it doesn't fit just find a correct windshield frame?

Better to find the exact one for your model! believe me this is difficult to adjust, IMO.

You can put the later windshield on the earlier body, then a later top will fit.

This has been covered ad nauseum in previous posts. Search!

Of course if you check the dimensions it will be OK. Good luck.
