Redi Sleave use

    Has anyone tried using a redi sleave on a pinion yoke. Mine has grooves worn into it allowing the pinion seal to not seal against the smooth surface of the pinion yoke. The idea is to use the redi sleave and it leaves a tight smooth surface against the seal. Having a hard time finding a decent yoke without wear and that has 26 splines on it.

    redi (speede)sleeves . are selected by OD of surface your going to use it on . we also use them on the job . if the surface is grooved you must also put some filler material in grove before installing sleeve . so that it won't collapse into groove . ,use something like 3M liquid steel

    I've used them on axles- they work really well. A yoke shouldn't present any difficulties.

    I've used more redi-sleeves over the years than I could possibly remember. They work just fine.

    Probably not a bad idea but I've sold and seen installed hundreds of speedi-sleeves while working for Peterbilt and other HD truck shops over the years and we never did anything but put a smear of #2 Permatex on the yoke before installing. I fixed all the yokes on my M38 that way and never had a problem.
