4 Wheel Drive Hardware sells this seat frame for early CJ's with Fiberglass bodies.

I've overlooked it several times because it references fiber glass bodies. I was just wondering why it wouldn't work with the factory steel body.

It might be a good candidate for replacements...seems like lots of people need them

I was thinking that myself. How difficult would that fabrication be?

I agree...that's partly why I didn't buy them, but maybe to someone who wasn't very good at fabbing stuff...and if they wanted to loose the underseat tool box.

I used the stock seat mounts on my 71 to install a couple of high back Toyota pickup seats. I cut the brakets off the front rails, shortend the front to rear mounts and rewelded them on the driver side. I was able to use the rear mounts on the seat rails to fasten the rear, I just had to drill some new mount holes to fasten them to the rear floor. I faricated a couple of brackets useing some flat stock for the rear mounts on the passenger side. I was able to keep the storage box under the passenger seat.
