Yup! Gunracks... Can't say that I've seen a lot rigged like that, but they are obviously Gunracks....

They look kinda like the B.A.R. racks that were mounted on the inside of w/s frame of WWII MB/GPW's

Those are for the Garand - usually mounted on the windshield for the driver (see Mail Call - he has one there) and on the sides of the seat for passanger if needed.

We had 4 of them as a kid... wish Dad wouldn't have given them away.

Those are for the M1 carbine. They had zippered convas covers.

No No. Those are stirrups that you put your legs into when your jeep wants you to spend more money on it.

No, I think those are surf fishing rod holders.

Not really, they look to be GI rifle holders. A bit too long for a carbine, prolly for a Garand or BAR as previously mentioned.

Do you think I made the cabine holder part up? THEY ARE M1 CARBINE HOLDERS. THE GARAND IS TOO LONG AND THE BAR IS TOO BIG EVERYWHERE. I've got probabally 30 of them. some with the zippered cases still on them. The zippered cases end at the metal tip and the carbine fits completely inside. Those racks have an inside dimension of 36.5" and an M1 carbine has an OAL of 35.65". The top twist clamp turns over the end of a carbine barrel and WILL NOT close over the wood of a garand.

I agree with JB those have got to be for a Carbine as they are way to small for a Garand and aren't even close to being able to fit a BAR in them.

    181jeep,
They are for the garande but the m1 carbine will fit also, along with the tommy gun. I you have some of them I would like one for my m38.
