I am trying to figure out the location for the PTO lever hole. It appears it will be directly where the mounting hole for the drivers seat will be. I searched for over an hour and didn't really see much for answers or pictures of solutions.

What have you run into and what are you guys doing? I think a picture says a thousand words on this one.

    Please help me.

    Thanks

There was a thread about this very thing a while back. Might search. Iirc a linkage was built to move the lever forward. A pto shift cable with a modified shift lever can work also. That's how the FC pto's worked. Otherwise the shifter ends up in places that don't work very well as you've found. A new shift lever can be easily made with a grinder, file, drill, and some round or flat stock.

My '60 has a square hole with a cover (my cover is missing) which is where the pto lever is supposed to live. It is just to the right of the right side seat mounting rail, right about where your fingers would naturally go if you just hung your right hand down the side of the seat. Looking through this hole you see the back cover of the transfer case, and if you have an overdrive, you would see that directly below the hole. Does that help any?

Your options are determined by which PTO you have, can you tell us model it is?

    The
problem is he has an overdrive with adapter that moves the pto back about 6" or so. This means the pto cannot line up with the factory pto shifter hole so the shifter would be back too far and other things interfere with where it would come through the floor. Because of this he needs alternatives for the shifter.
