This info is coming from Martin Auto Color in Sparks NV, whom as far as I know is the distributor of PPG in Reno/Sparks.

I dig this post up from Donny (Keys5a) from a late 2019 thread in B+F forum:

My '41 Ford's original paint was lead based. And what a pain in the arse to strip it off.

Marlin Blue Metallic is Jeep code #394 and was used from '65 -'70. My books also show a semi-gloss for underhood/interior for '69/'70. The Ditzler/PPG code is #13156, and Martin Senour is #32Y-7813 for acrylic and 90T-4258 for synthol. Acme code #5130
A very slightly lighter Jeep color is Parade Blue Metallic, Jeep code#228/328, and was used from '62 -'65. Ditzler/PPG code #12611. Martin Senour numbers are 60T-7732 for lacquer and 90T-4056 for synthol. Acme uses #9216. Its hard to tell the difference between the two blues from the color chips.
Finally, Presidential Red 2 is Jeep code #226/326 and was used from '62 -'70. Ditzler/PPG code#71334. Martin Senour code#32H-2270 for acrylic and 90G-3054 for synthol. Martin Senour doesn't show Presidential Red #1 vs # 2, but both the same for early and late versions. I also have Acme code #5013 for the #2 version vs #7907 for the #1version. The #1 version (Jeep #78/108) used from '56 -'64 is darker than #2 (#226/326) on the color chips.
    Hope this helps! -Donny

@Keys5a Thanks Donny. If you were me and you wanted to try to be faithful with regard to paint to your 1966 Tux (and wanted #226 Red), what brand/style of paint would you end up with? Well also bearing in mind that it is highly likely the vehicle will be getting splashed in mud and having bushes scraped down the side of it at some point…

I'm leaning towards having a professional restoration/body shop do the paint for me and they will most likely be able to do anything I ask them to - I just need to ask for the right thing.

I'd be looking for a catylized single-stage paint. Acrylic urethane, polyurethane? Sterlclan (post#10) is the expert.

I realize that the point of the thread is to get the original paint color. However, if you want good quality paint and are flexible about the exact color, the Kirker paints are an excellent value. AutoBodyToolMart will send a sheet of the maybe fifty standard colors that are available.

This page will give you a quick idea of which colors are available Urethane Enamel Paint
If you wanted President Red, looks like they sell five different shades of solid red.
