I have decided to put a 304 in my 67. I have been looking back through the fourms and have read that you should or have to move the front cross member. I have a set of new fenders from a 75, has anybody seen it done and does it look alright. Thanks

what would be the point? You don't need the longer fenders and hood to put in the 304. Unless you lenghthened the frame they would nearly reach the front bumper.

The problem wouldn't be the front crossmember it is the grill box that is built in front of the radiator, it is much deeper than the later model grill. The the later model longer frontend was not built to accommodate a v8 but was lengthened to accomodate a staight 6, a buick 350 v8 is almost a direct bolt in if you originally had a v6, all accept the grill box. Changing the hood and fenders would not work as the frame would be to short to put it all on.

So are you saying i shouldn't have to move the crossmember. Just use the 75 grill box. Thanks again

I wouldn't bother to change the grille - just modify the grill you have. Cut the "tunnel" and move the radiator forward.

A 300, 340 or 350 Buick is a lot easier to install than a 304. Easy peasy - even the motor mounts are the same as the 225 V6.
