V6 Prestolite Distributor?

    Steve every Prestolite I have ever seen in a jeep was a cast iron housing. That is indeed a Prestolite distributor, but I wonder if that wasn't originally on one of the 225 boat motors. They would want an aluminum distributor in wet environment and the only difference is the distributor cap but they are interchangeable.

    Never thought about it being for a marine motor. I purchased it on eBay sometime ago and can't remember what the guy said about it. Good observation Mike.

    Did the 225 marine fire standard rotation or reverse? Might be a problem if the distributor guts spins backwards --- but I'm just playin' Brad's advocate R)

    Never thought about that Jon, but I do know that all the boats I've seen that have the 225 in it are ski type boats. I do have an OMC manual at my moms house that covers the 225 marine motor, it might tell in there. You would be able to tell by the gear on the bottom of the distributor though.
    (edit) His is not a reverse rotation I can tell by the gear in the picture.
