Hey everyone, part of my continuing Willy's rock crawler build will be to upgrade from the Ross steering box to a Saginaw manual box. I was just wondering if anyone around here has done one and what they thought about how complicated the install was and was the improvement in steering noticable enough to justify the $$$.

    Thanks
    Alex

    Alex,
There's plenty of info in the tech section on this common swap if you'll just try a search please.

BTW, I'd add, it's worth it from what I've read. :D

The problem with adding saginaw steering is your pto winch. You wont have the room for the box.

How about a scout II box mounted on top of the framerail?

Was about to suggest the same thing. Ran across something about it on the 4x4 wire it was on a flatfender with a turbo 4 cyl Ford and it also had a pto wench.
