Oil Pressure Gauge Line Failed And Barfed Oil

    the hard part is to get the ferrule to go back on the tubing. Some times the frustration quotient is so hi, it is just better to go to your FLAPS and get a new tubing kit. They really don't cost much. And I just went with the nylon tubing. Copper will get brittle over time and cause a leak again. May not be for years, but it does happen.

    Ferrules themselves are indeed one time use. The tubing should protrude and the ferrule will bite into the tubing deep enough to where you can't pull it out, but not deep enough to cut it. More of a squeezing the ferrule and compressing the tubing. Based on your description you'd best redo it.

    It couldn't hurt to get the Jegs kit with new line and fittings. :coffee::) Copper or Nylon is up to you. ;)

    No need for new tube if you can cut back the old tube by a ½" and put a new ferrule on.

    Copper can indeed 'work harden' if it vibrates excessively, but has been used sucessfully in this application for a hundred years. My experience with plastic has not been as good.
