Back to basics. My Jeep hates me always. The iron intake has the pcv in the intake. I had a new grommet, it was tight while trying to push in the new pcv valve. Yep it pushed through without warning. 30 minutes with a piece of wire and needlenose on that one. 20 minutes of anxiety looking for a 5/16 washer for the carb stud. I put 2 on one stud, whew I was worried. Sort out the linkages and fuel line tomorrow. Can probably get it tuned up and a short jaunt by afternoon. Agreed. I bought my Jeep in March of 2018 but the love affair started during the prior December.

Installing an Aussie Locker in my Dana 30 and I realize I have lost a spring. On my hands and knees with a flashlight looking for it on the floor of my garage to no avail. Can't reinstall the gears without all 4 springs in place. Online I find a replacement set of all four for $30. Should have been more careful.

Santa came a bit early, just to get it off the floor, I installed my new jack, just used the JK roll cage mount, works great!, also visible are the slider/steps that Norcal sent me, he must have a strapping tool, steps were well strapped and packaged.

Check Summit and Jegs. We messed up a spring on a buddy's install and I seem to remember them being about half that cost.

Back together. 2G reporting for duty. Idles way down now had it to 600. Need to convert the air cleaner to 2bbl diameter and put a breather on the valve cover or plumb a hose to the air cleaner. Manual choke now so another knob on the dash. We might get measurable snow on wed :twist:

Another partial day of purging and reorganizing the garage. This shelving unit at the back of the shop always takes the longest to do and hopefully I can wrap this up tomorrow. Already feel like I have so much more space now that the tables have been cleared off and the cleaning/lubrication shelving has been re organized and unused items discarded.

I got my engine started and actually drove it around the block.

I've been working on getting this on the road since last spring. There are still some details to finish but it runs, drives, steers and stops.
People behind me don't know I'm stopping, the taillights don't work yet.

Finished up my purge and reorganization of the garage. And cobbled together a shop chair out of a half stick of square tubing and one if the old seats out of the CJ.

Ammo can center console in the CJ to replace the cheaply made low buck thing that was in there before. The old one locked but was made out of particle board and vinyl so would have been easy to break into, and the previous owners were fishers I guess cause it was full of old lures and used hooks. It was also too low to work as an arm rest. Still on the fence on if I should paint it or leave it. Pretty sure I'm going to upholster at least part of the lid and add a basic cupholder or set of cupholders.

Pretty sure this was the old unit that was in there but in vinyl instead of denim.

pulled the jeep into the shop, and started working on the brakes. new master cylinder going in, then checking the drums. hopefully it's a simple fix, cause that's one of the last things needed to make it safe on the road.

Why? Cruelty to animals? Deer didn't feel a thing.
    Rather common sight around here.

In California meat doesn't come from animals. It comes from the grocery store.....
