Is it possible to graft a CJ5 tub to a CJ3B fenders and grill? Anyone ever done this? Thanks!

I suppose it *could* be done, but the cowl area of the 3B is much narrower that the CJ5. The MB/2A/3A/3B all had the tub tapering up front, with th efenders outboard of the hood.

IMHO it would be very difficult to make it look right and bolt up.

I saw a picture of flat fenders grafted to a TJ. Hood was custom made. They were not rock crawler fenders but flat fenders. I'm sure its a tj the gas cap, doors and windshield, are the same. Can't see the grill. One pic of it is on page 44 of March 05 Four Wheeler. I found a better pic somewhere but cant find it right now. Looks like alot of fab work but anything is possable.

Found the other pic. It is on page 189 of Essentials Spring 2005 catalog. The door is like a CJ-7, YJ or TJ. The fuel door is like the TJ. The windshield looks to be TJ. The dash is CJ, tailgate is YJ or TJ, suspension is coil spring and the front fenders are Flat fenders. It looks like it may be an Alum. tub to (inner fenders polished).

    That one?

All custom alum. body if so...

    See the writeup.

I love that Jeep...with a more "plain" paint job and less bling it would be a great blending of old and new Jeep tech.

I'm OK with the paint job. With a Hemi, you can pretty much have whatever paint you want IMHO. That thing is neat.

Yep. I have that article. Don't have that kinda cash though. I'm rebuilding my CJ3B. I have dana 44 front and rear, 225v8, NP435 and Dana 300 t-case. With all these nice parts I have a clapped-out tub and I wanted to know what options were out there when it comes time to replace it.
BTW - I am now known as One-Trac. I got a new computer and e-mail addy. I am on an old computer now...
