Ok, so I've subjected y'all to the trials and tribulations of my disc brake / wheel conflict. Now that I think I have a handle on the wheels (or will shortly) I'm starting to rethink my choice of tires.

Presently I have a set of Cragar Nomad "wagon wheels" in 15x8 with 31x10.50x15 BFG Radial Long Trail tires. I bought these tires with the idea that my Jeep will see 95% street duty, putting around town and being my daily driver in the warm months for my grueling 2.5-mile round-trip commute.

Now, with a set of "stock-type" OEM 15x7 rims in the offing, I'm starting to rethink my choice of tires. I'm either thinking of going to 7.00 or 7.50 x 15 NDTs for the stock look with the OEM rims or in going with some MT-type "pizza cutter" -sized tires for better all-around performance. I don't see me putting more than 3k miles on the Jeep per year.

    Here's what I'm thinking of....

I love my MT's....world of difference in ride quality between them and the bias-plys I had before them.

Tire technology has come a long way since ndt's came along. I like them have run them. But whats available today such as the MTs can't be beat. I run them on my truck dd get between 40 and 50K out of them. Plus they have great traction. If you want the skinny look might consider these they come in 700x15 and 750 x16

If you go with an MT look for one with siping.
My Pro Comps MTs have them and I like how they do in the rain, snow etc.

NDT's would look cool but are supposed to be horrible on wet roads.

Oh they are horrible in the rain, believe me. I'm also thinking that the 31x10.50x15's that I have now are going to wear funny on 7" rims. On the plus side, the stock rims have about 2" more backspacing so the big tires should tuck under the fenders. If I'm going to have a hope of ever getting satndard plates back on my Jeep, I have to get the tires inside the fenders, or run those fugly fender flares.

    Thanks fellas!

You'll be fine. I ran that combo for years, now have 32 x 11.50's on 7" wheels. Just set the tire pressure by using chalk marks to find where you get an even wear pattern.
