May I ask why, propane is more expensive now than gasoline, sure it burns cleaner but produces less hp due to lower BTU.

I ran propane in my 78 Ford P/U and there were alot of advantages to running it. What McRuff said is true but the work around is to build the motor for propane using higher comp. pistons, cam, etc. . I don't see it as practical in a CJ though because of the additional equipment needed - especially the tank. Just not alot of room in a CJ. My milage in my full size truck was around 7-8 , a cj might get 12. You would need to carry at least 20 - 30 gallons minimum. Remember, propane isn't on every corner. That would be alot of tank for a CJ.

I was looking at it as cheap (in inatal cost) fuel injection. I like the simplicity and lack of electronics. I am currently in a battle with a rodchester that I cannot seem to win. Just thinking it would be nice for it to run on it's side.

This is a trail only rig, so I was looking for something simple and dependable.

Found that one sparky, But thanks anyway. There were a couple others I found with good info but not much that adressed this directly.

    Ok.

Just knew we'd discussed it before.
