Well sometimes I am just stupid. The prior owner told me that my tranny was a t-14. I had no reason not to believe him. Even looked at it from underneath and after looking at a few t-14 photo's thought it was.

Issue is today wile removing it I found that what I thought was a grenaded T14 is actualy a T86. So my question:

Will a t14 Witch Michigan Pinstripe has been so gracious as to offer me a deal on, Bolt up in the place of my crapped out T86?

Heck the shifter even looked T14...

It should be a bolt in, they have the same pilot size, same retainer size, same bolt pattern, the length on the t14 is 5/8" longer but the slip joints on the driveshafts should take this much. The t14 has a better 1st gear and is sychro'd where the t86 is not.

For got to mention so long as the rear output shaft is a match to the t86 rear output seems 1 might be 1 3/8-6 and the other a 1 3/16-10 , but I think you can change the gear in the transfer case to match if different.

Don't you need the stock plate adapter to go with the T14?

Not if he already has the t86, they are both the same length stickout and bolt pattern.

Acording to Offroad.com's tech they have the same length diamiter and spline count both input and Output.
