Which clock position is best suited for our V6s when using the Delco 10SI? 3:00 oclock would position the pins to the outside facing the passenger fender and looks like it would work OK but 12:00 oclock, placing the pins on top, somehow looks better. I know the alternator can be repositioned but I'd like to get it right the first time.

I mounted mine with the push-on connector at the 12 o'clock position. It was already clocked that way, and didn't require that I add any length to my wire harness. Just had to add waterproof splices.

By splices do you mean the 2-way connector that plugs into the alternator? If so, why waterproof? Isn't the alternator basically open anyway?

The splices I had were for the 2 prong connector. Yes, the alt is open to the elements, but I don't like exposed splices. Probably due to my aircraft maintenance background. Also, it made for a very clean looking install. ;)

Makes sense Chris. Are the waterproof connectors easy to come by?

I'd just put it wherever the connector comes out best. They are so easy to clock, try it a couple different ways if need be...

I was there today Chris picking up my rotors and flywheel. I like the machine shop guy there - he's very straight forward and helpful. I'll say "hi" for you next time I go by. :D :D

Off 52 like in Kearny Mesa? Recall seeing a big NAPA place close to REI. Is that the one?

That be the one... Used to do all my JEEP shopping there when I was stationed at NAS Miramar from '91 - '00. The machine shop service is (was) excellent.

Stopped by NAPA this morning but couldn't find any waterproof connector for the Delco alternator. We looked through their Echlen (sp) catalog but the only connector found was the plain 2-wire female connector.
