My 1967 cj5 has the oversized holes in the floor where the pedals pass through. I assume at one time there were some sort of grommet there. Is that correct and can someone tell me what the proper name is?

    Thanks
    Rob

I just cut up an old inner tube. Made a 2" disc, punched a hole in the middle and glued it to the floor. My floor mat covers them so they don't show.

How do those actually go on? The holes are too small for my pedals, so obviously the picture in my mind is not in agreement with reality. (Not first, nor will it be last, time).

Mine are missing. However, the two pads go under the floor and on the rod the pedal is attached to. They seal when they are up and are unsealed when you step on the pedal.

The draft pad kid also has the benefit of quieting the floorboard 'thump' when a pedal is released.

Pads are installed by removing the the upper pedal shaft rod - by releasing the pinchbolt where the pedal shaft meets the cast arm below the floor.

Installed one on the clutch today. Took about 15 minutes total.
I no longer use the through the floor brake pedal.

I never use the brake either. It only slows me down.
