Sometimes spelled as PowrLok -- if you're trying to search for info...

Thanks, stumbled across that too. just figured out last night that I have one in my jeep, trying to find out a bit about it. mainly, I am about to switch to 11" brakes and need to remove the axels to get at the backing plates. does anyone have a diagram of what I am going to find when I get in there???

not necc to remove the axles
just pull the hubs, then remove/unbolt backing plates
reinstall bearing retainer/seal/axle shims same as you found them

simply unbolt using the existing hole thru the axle
    then yank
    then comes decision time
    replace the bearings and seals?
to replace the seal on the shaft, you have to remove the bearing
it you are going to remove the bearing, then replace it
but before you can do that, you have to remove the lock ring
drill into it, 3/8 bit or larger, (don't hit the axle) then hit with cold chisel and it will pop open and can be removed
you might want to check and make sure you have all the parts before doing this
and when you pull the axles, watch for the little button that will fall out of the powerlok; you need to reinstall that before the axles go in
usually a blob of grease will hold it; nail on end of long dowel will get it back into place; there is a button on each side FYI
not as hard as I am making it sound

Thank you, I'm sure as I start through the process, this will all fall into place, just wanted an idea of what I was up against before I started. :coffee:
