Handbrake Handle Question

    In my 58 CJ5 I removed the hand brake as cable needed to be replaced. In photo and where you see the clicker rod stop is as far as it goes. I think the rod should go down farther so the tit on top will go into the notch just below it.
    Before i attempt and repair to this just wanted to be sure nothing is missing and maybe i just need to make a adjustment to the tube the clicker rod rides in.

    at the other end . where handle is . there is two butterfly clips . raise clips with a small screwdriver , and it will move forward rest of way . that's how to replace cable
