So I rebuilt my t90, first time.

New gears, new cluster gear, new input shaft, new syncros.. the only thing reused was the output/main shaft.

Shifts into 2 and 3 great.

After coming to a stop, sometimes (like 1 every 10 times) it won't go into 1st or R but just slightly. If I can roll forward a little, it will slide right in.

Did I do something wrong when rebuilding? Or is this some sort of break in period lol. Its probably had 400 miles on it after the rebuild.

    Thanks!

No synchros on 1st or reverse so things don't automatically mesh- your tranny is working fine.

Usually shifting into 2nd gear first and then first eliminates the grinding.

The non-synchro gears (1st and reverse) slide to engage with other gears, so they are more likely to be tip-to-tip where they won't slide together. (The synchro collars have more, smaller and more beveled teeth, so they are a lot less likely to hang when not moving). Clutch out, clutch in, let the gears spin down, and they'll probably mesh. I expect this will happen less as the gears wear-in to their new mates.

Once you grind them a few times the sharp edges will be knocked of and it will shift better :D

    Two words… Double-Clutch.

A old-time man-skill, easily mastered. Then you can pretend you are driving a big rig or a race car.:D
