Getting ready to install the driveshaft e-brake on my '55, just waiting for parts.(Imagine that). Anyway, does anyone know of a good assembly diagram/description? I have a Chilton manual but the picture is not good and the assembly procedure is unclear. A photo of a complete e-brake would be very helpful. I'm starting from scratch, it was off of the Jeep and incomplete when I started. Thanks

No pics here........btu I can say that you "may" have to turn the drum to fit the omix shoes

Herm has a hand brake diagram on his webpage. I havent found anything that describes how to assemble it. Its pretty basic after you have all the clean parts in at hand.
The shoes are held on with springs and a post arrangement that they fit under.
One post is part of the adjuster boss, the other is just a rivited post. If it is gone, there is not much you can do.
Then there is an adjustment/tension pin that couples with the "long arm" on the rear bearing cap of the Tcase, and a "short arm" under the above mentioned post arrangement.
When the "long arm" is pulled by the hand brake lever, it pulls the top of the shoes toward the drum, and the bottom of the shoes touch the drum based on the adjustment of the two screws.

I ran into this, but I ground down the heel of the shoes a bit instead of turning the drum.......
