Where does this little clutch spring go, I can't find it in any of my photos and I know it attaches to the clutch lever but can't remember where it attaches afterwords, I found this little bracket that I painted that is laying on the M/C in the photo, I think it bolts on the bellhousing in front of the spring and attaches there, could someone confirm that.

    Mike,
You're correct. Mine attaches under the bolt head your finger is close to.

I have let this bother me for 2 hours and then finally remembered painting that little bracket and then couldn't remember where it went.

Just got back in from garage, mine fits in the open hole also, I guess I'll find out what that little bracket is for later. Heck I have so much sh#$ in my garage that bracket could go to God only knows what. I just didn't notice the hole in the bellhousing (God I hate getting old and the eyes aren't worth crap anymore) until I took the screw out to put the bracket on the bolt and it didn't fit, I then noticed the hole!;)

I'm an open hole guy too.

The above statement is specific to the topic being addressed here.

My question was going to be, "What's that spring do?" But by the time I started tyyping I realized I get answeres like, "It pulls." So I guess what I should be asking is whether or not I need such a spring if I'm running a AA Chain conversion?

The spring makes sure the fork returns to position. and adds pressure to the pedal push.

If you look in the photo I posted, right where my hand is on the edge of the bellhousing down about an inch below the last bellhousing bolt there is a hole in the bellhousing edge about 1/4-5/16" in diameter.
