I'm in the process of grinding the D30 knuckles to clearance the calipers. Someone addressed this a little while ago (Nickmil ?) It seems like a fair amount of material has to be removed. Also, I'm going to lose my turning stops as they screw in right where I have to grind. Any thoughts out there? I'm finding lots of info re: converting D27's to discs but not much on converting D30s.

I have done the D27 conversion but I havn't done a D30 but wouldn't it be easier to take a later model knuckle and mount on there or am I just fishing.

Probably easier, but then I'm buying upper and lower ball joints and the knuckles as well. Which would effectively double the cost of the conversion. Then there are all those unknowns, like will '73 spindles work on disc knuckles, if not are the wheel bearings different for disc spindles and on and on. Just like every project where you're winging it.
