I just got the new sm465 in, and started up the engine. I don't have the clutch hooked up yet, so i filled the trans with oil and put it in neutral. As the engine is running, i notice that the transfer case outputs are spinning, which is a minor problem, considering there's no gear oil in there.

I checked a few times, and the transmission appears to be in neutral, but the tcase keeps spinning. The transmission shifts into every gear fine with the engine off, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Anyone want to take a stab at this? Thanks.

It's just internal drag in the transmission, you know friction, nothing wrong with it, if you were to grab the case output (carefully) you should be able to stop it with your hand or maybe a piece of wood or sumthin'...

Ok, that makes sense. I was dreading having to pull the transmission back out and take it apart again. Thanks for the help.
