    Hey guys,
I am trying to put on a 4bbl onto my 225. My old intake didn't have these holes in the back behind the carb. Anyone know what to do with them ?

The two round holes on the milled flat look to be for an egr system. Get a new gasket and use it as a template to make a block off plate or an egr whatcha ma call it and just don't hook it to anything.
The system allows exhaust into the intake at part throttle

Thanks that makes sense and will be easy enough. Any idea on what the one next to it is? That was a black rubber grommet before I painted everything.

You might double check, looks like those egr ports might be plugged already.

    That's what I'm thinking too.

I haven't seen an EGR setup on a 225, but all mine must be earlier version. Those do look to be blocked. I have blocked off several AMC 304/360 intakes with small freeze plugs in the past. I have the parts numbers for yhe plugs written on a parts cabinet up at Hatteras.

The 71 225 has the crossover under the 2 barrel carb in the form of the 2 holes and channel under the carb base. That manifold was made later to fit the 231.

I have a 4bbl carb on my 225 with headers and trying to dial it in. My RPMs are off I’m running about 1300. Just curious what others run with this set up (225, 390 cfm 4bbl carb, headers)

You've got a vacuum leak likely. Also check that your butterflies are fully closing ( the directions are very specific, you can get the transition slots too far covered/uncovered giving you another set of headaches) a manual is necessary and there are several good YouTube vids on the matter.

I suggest you start your own thread. This way we don't go flying off into an issue other than the OP's.
