Is the brake hose from the axle to the "S" line on the front brakes the same from 54 thru 75? If not, what is the cut off?

The extra few bucks won't drain the jeep fund.

The mechanic said he's not sure if that will take care of the problem now or not
He's checking the hard lines now for blockage. No way to really check the rubber line I guess.

Hmmm... good call on the rubber line as a potential culprit for the "pull".
I can see if one line has gotten soft, and "balloons" a bit under pressure, the pressure at that wheel cylinder will be less than the other side...
best to replace both rubber lines... cheap insurance, and a possible fix.

Rubber lines can look good and be bad. Rubber lines will start to fail inside by material getting loose inside (like a flap) which reduces the amount of fluid that runs throughthe hose. Think of it like a blocked artery in a person. The opposite side may flow perfectly which will cause a pull on the side with the good hose. The side with the bad hose will provide less pressure to the wheel cylinder or caliper due to the bad hose = less brake pressure than the side with the good hose hence a pull.. I had this happen on a 1991 Chevy 1/2 ton.

I've been able to get those same rubber hoses from my local auto parts store. Most of the time they have to get if from the warehouse, which takes a day or 2 .

Here's the deal. I replaced the right hose a couple of weeks ago when I rebuilt the knuckles. So we figured the left hose was the culprit. Swapped them just now. STILL pulling to the right

Blew all of the lines out, nothing wrong there. Determined that it was one of the BRAND NEW wheel cylinders I put on last week !!! He already have 4+ hours in it (to the tune of $200). I told him I'd take it home and swap the wheel cylinders myself. If it then pulls to the left, we know what happened. If not, I will shoot the jeep.
