Another Directional And Tail Lamp Question

I know these questions come up a lot, but my questions seem to be answered up to ‘62, not ‘64 (my CJ5). With so little left when I purchased it, I don’t see any signs there was a directional switch on the column, and no idea what taillight/s it would have come with. Were the turn signals still an option in ‘64, or were they standard? Depending on this answer, I would then like to know if there was one or two brake/tail lights?

Perhaps with some collaboration, a sticky listing years, options vs. standard equipment, and state/federal requirements. (Especially for those of us who are too young to have experienced these changes)

By the sixties two lights, with turn signals, were standard.

In NH, turn signals are mandatory on anything after 1952, IIRC.

 

A '64 CJ5 should have had 2 Hall 701 tail lights (black housings, left side with a license window) and a Spartan self-cancelling signal switch on the column.

What Donny said, and you can get new Hall 701 style rear tail lights from Walck’s! The Sparton turn signal switch comes up for sale here on ecj5 over the years, and on eBay.
