Semi Fixed Tire Rubbing

Thanks to this board, I adjusted both steering stops and that stopped the majority of my rub. Up to this point, I had no idea what steering stops were. The main problem was that my front passenger tire was hitting the bump stop. Can I trim the stop plate and fix this completely without any problems down the road?
