    Hi All,

My ‘69Commando (V6 engine+trans donor) drove off the trailer and into the garage. It’s been in the garage for two years. I started it in its new home (my ‘64 CJ5) and was attempting a test drive. However, the clutch didn’t disengage. I tried to start it in gear (low range) with the clutch depressed, but the starter didn’t like it. My hope being that the clutch disk was rusted to the friction surfaces, and reving it with clutch depressed in gear would free it. From there I looked but wasn’t really able to
confirm that the the clutch fork was on the TO bearing properly, so much to my disappointment, I dropped the trans and t-case. The fork was on correctly, and wasn’t blown through at the pivot. Based on the anti-seize on the tip of the input shaft, it wasn’t contacting the crank. The TO bearing moves up and down the shaft okay. Is my next step to remove the clutch from the flywheel? If it was rusted in place, will it be evident when looking at the friction surfaces? I looked at many clutch threads here, and don’t know what should I do next. Should I just order a new clutch? When I drove it in the garage, the clutch did seem pretty on/off, but that was a 30’ drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -blalp!

The frame and frame mounted pedals are 70-71 with cable.

Removing the pressure plate is certainly the next step. I would assume the disc will stay stuck to the flywheel.
