Folks... I'm looking for a reputable machine shop near Abilene, Texas or the DFW Metroplex that knows the F134. Any suggestions?

"Bob" Hannah rebuilding a hurricane.. Am I the only one that caught that?

Sorry man, no idea about your shop but that was too much coincidence for me to not notice.

    Good luck friend!

Nothing special about the F-134 engine, it is actually very simple compared to more modern engines, and only slightly more complicated than a law mower engine.

I would think just about any reputable mechanic or shop which builds engines would have no problem with one.

Suggest you might ask around the local car clubs, and visit any shops they suggest. Oldpappy is right, it's very conventional technology. I think the most common issue with these is cracks in the block. Cracks can be repaired, but it might get expensive. Suggest the main barrier might be finding a shop that will work on something that old and guarantee their work.

https://www.bing.com/search?q=dallas+ft.+worth+automotive+machine+shops Go to locations, scope them out, talk to customers, get references. I would look for a small shop that's willing to spend the time to figure out what's needed for an old and unfamiliar engine. If they quote an outrageous price, they don't want your business.

Found a local shop and they said they can do it no problem. They want to see it before they quote a price, but the they've got a good reputation in town. Thanks for the advice and reassurance that this is a sewing machine on steroids. LOL. My dad and I wrenched on Triumph's (sorry guys, not the motorcycles) when I was a kid and this seems simpler than that. Anyways, thanks again.

With the cost of machine work, labor and parts that is a very fair price.
