72 Cj5 Cover Suggestions.

Hello all! Some of you may have seen me post about this 72 Renegade a while back. I got it running for a friend after many years of sitting. The Jeep is currently in good running shape. My friend has however asked me to hold the Jeep for him for some time as his garage is small. I have a nice RV parking space at my house to keep it for the time being. However it will have to be outside, and I'd like it to not degrade more than it did in the last 20 years of being outside. This picture is from the day I started working on this Jeep. My question to the group is this. Who makes a good car cover that can fit this jeep with the winch and tow bar up front and the rack and trailer hitch out back? Or should I just go get a generic van cover or something like that.

 

"D" slots on an intermediate - COOL! It still has the rear seat, dash pad, visors and an added fuel tank. I love the color, too.
I think you'll need the generic cover to extend over the hitch.
There are plenty of sizes available even at budget prices. I have one of these for my CJ5 and it works great for when I have the top off and just want a quick overnight protection from dew.

A TJ cover fits OK on a CJ5...that contraption on the back will have to come off. Towbar too.

 

My buddies father was the original owner. He passed away and my buddy got it. Actually has 13,000 miles on it. No BS. I posted a thread with a bunch of pictures here a couple years ago. Pretty nice time capsule. Sad part is he left it outside for many years. I've cleaned it up a bunch since this pic was taken.

 

That is the original color back in 1972. I new a guy that had the same jeep in CA.
