I just bought a 1957 CJ6 w/134. I'm getting ready to get it running and was looking everything over. The vent line goes from intake tract below carb to side lifter cover. Inline at front of block, it has a T and the other line goes over where the mechanical fuel pump would be. It is cut and crimped to seal. I have a block off plate and an electrical pump. What would that other line be for? From the T to cover is a rubber line. Shouldn't this engine have one hard line from intake to cover? SUNP0222.JPG SUNP0223.JPG SUNP0221.JPG

Vacuum line to the dual-action pump and thence to vacuum wipers.

And there should be a PCV valve attached to the side cover, not the flex line.

Several different setups were used, and I agree there should be a PCV valve somewhere in the system, and where the flex line is on your Jeep is a common configuration. My 67 has the PCV valve at the fitting under the carburetor, but more often see them where Pete suggests.

It's hard to tell what the factory did apart from homemade fixes. I'll fab a line up temporarily until I can get a PCV. Don't want a vacuum leak while I start it for first time. Thanks.

On second look I see what may be a PCV valve on the forward end of that flex line, can't tell for sure.
