Timing Cover Oil Hose Fitting

Hello all,

My engine (F-134) had a brass hose barb fitting in the timing cover where the oil filter return line goes in. That brass fitting was leaking.

Do I order a new hose with the correct fitting, or does anyone know the type of fitting I can purchase to replace it. I was able to cobble something together with fittings from Lowe's. It isn't leaking anymore, but I am not crazy about the current setup.

Suggestions?

 

A barb fitting was not OEM.

There should be an inverted flare permanently fixed in the timing cover. The correct hose would have the male end, much like a flexible brake-line hose.
