For Sale Selling A 2001 Ram 2500 W/cummins

I need to sell my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins engine (pre-DEF) and auto transmission. Banks stainless steel exhaust from turbo to bumper. Engine runs perfects, trans. not so much.

It has the Quad Cab and 8 ft. bed with a fiberglass bed topper. The bed topper side windows open for access. The truck is sitting with 349,000 miles. Heavy duty rear hitch + trailer brake controller with a 2” receiver on the front.

This was purchased new and was my daily driver until about 4 years ago. It has been a work truck that also hauled my toy hauler. Overall the truck is in good shape, for it’s age, and has been professionally maintained. California truck with no rust. The brake booster was replaced less than 500 miles ago. Brakes are good, tires are good. Water pump was replaced less than 1000 miles ago. Interior is good, no tears or rips. Sony sound system with blue tooth/ hand free phone.

THE BAD:

The transmission needs an overhaul, it has more than 200,000 miles on a rebuilt transmission.

The A/C needs a recharge = something is leaking.

The plastic dash is cracked; the glovebox door closes and stays in place but when you open it the door comes off in your hand.

The paint has clear coat leprosy and the truck has a few minor dents.

Since I need to put a price on this add let’s say $16,000 (1/2 of what I paid in fall of 2000) OBO.

What is this truck really worth?
