1971 Jeep Renegade

• Build date September 1970. Jeep has Renegade 1 decal on side and Renegade 11 decal on front fender. I know they do not put decals on fender. Has a tailgate so must be a Renegade 1. But has rear gas tank fill so that is renegade 11 Bought off of original owner and was used as a farm Jeep. 17000 original miles. Mainly used for plowing snow. Original owner said decals came that way from factory and he had dealer add hardtop and snow plow. Jeep is all original. So I am confused. Could this be a mistake by factory? Or maybe mismatch of parts when AMC bought. Or a hybrid Renegade 1 and 11. Thank you!

I'm wary of most sellers anymore. I've never heard of Ren II stickers, or any stickers, on the nose of the front fenders. Do the stickers appear to be of the same vintage as the rest of them? Same color fade, etc.?

We saw that Jeep on Craigslist. Looks like a solid rig. It is a Renegade I, but someone had fun with some Ren II stickers on the fenders and the doors. Probably done wsy back in the day, but neither of those stripes are original.
